Kamp Motor Speedway IS Open

All I can ask is WHY? Why are the rumors flying like nuclear missiles. Why are people saying that Thursday was our last race or Saturday was it? Have I posted anything like that, have I announced anything like that at the track, have I personally called fans and drivers and said “look Saturday was our last race so don’t bother to show up”. The answer to all of these why’s are NO, I haven’t posted anything, NO I haven’t announced anything like that and NO I haven’t called the first person to tell them that. So my question is WHY are these rumors floating around?
We have been bombarded with phone calls about these rumors. Do you know what these rumors are doing to our attendance with both fans and drivers? Do you know why it is getting harder and harder to cover the bills and the purse? I know the economy is bad we feel it at K-Motion and the speedway but these senseless rumors don’t help matters. The only answer I can figure out is there are some people who want to see us fail and you know the same people will be the first ones crying when we do shut the gates down because of attendance. Go Figure.

I have tried to up attendance with the July promotion and you know I have had people who have tried to abuse that. The whole idea was to get people to bring their co-workers to the track to build up attendance. Is it working like it should? Not really.

I know this isn’t everyone and just like always it’s the few bad apples in the barrel that spoils all the others. That is what is happening here, so and so said this so it must be true. Well Bob and I are doing everything we can to keep going so we don’t need the rumor mill working against us.

So yes we are open, we are having the Monster Midwest Series Late Model race this weekend.  Please give me a little credit I have said I would announce it if we closed or sold the place and as of yet I have not made that announcement. Now come on out and show some support to your local track.
